Students Served

Learning In Style students:

  • are 18 years of age or older
  • have limited proficiency in English
  • are committed to regular attendance

LIS welcomes adults who have no previous formal education.

We invite adult immigrants to expand their possibilities through language and learning. Depending on their needs, students may:

  • Acquire language tools for successful living
  • Improve their math skills
  • Become computer literate
  • Become life-long learners
  • Study to become citizens

English classes are required regardless of what other classes are taken. English proficiency includes reading, speaking, listening, grammar, sentence structure, and writing.

Registration

Students who wish to register for classes come in person to the office. No appointment is needed for registration which takes approximately 1 hour, and placement testing is a part of the registration procedure.

Registration Hours Monday – Thursday
Morning: 9:00 am — 11:00 am
Afternoon: 1:00 pm — 3:00 pm

Learning in Style is closed during June, July and August.
